Las Vegas Paving Corp was selected by the City of Las Vegas Public Works to execute their first Construction Manager at Risk project, the Valley View and Jones Widening Project. At a negotiated price of $24.8 Million and 450 calendar days, construction on this project began on October 30, 2011. The project encompassed approximately eleven (11) miles of roadway along Valley View Boulevard and Jones Boulevard. The scope of the project included twenty (20) new dedicated bus turn out locations constructed with the widening for intersections and street improvements, median construction, driveway modifications, curb, gutter and sidewalk reconstruction, roadway milling and overlay, construction of new pavement, storm drain lateral extensions and other drainage improvements, utility relocations, streetlight upgrades, ITS conduit and fiber optic cable, sewer rehabilitation, trail systems, landscaping, retaining walls, block walls, new signing and striping with complete traffic signal modifications at nineteen (19) intersections. As the general contractor, Las Vegas Paving was able to self-perform 70% of the project.
