Las Vegas Paving was the Principal Participant for the Design Build team constructing improvements along I-15 from Tropicana Avenue to Silverado Ranch Boulevard for the Nevada Department of Transportation. During the proposal phase, LVP’s design team had five significant ATCs approved with an estimated savings of $9.9 million to the owner. The project included widening the freeway, the addition of collector/distributor roads along the corridor, a direct connect ramp from Blue Diamond Road (SR-160) to I-15, five redesigned interchanges, 26 new bridge structures, 35 retaining walls, 1.5 miles of sound walls, 10 miles of drainage improvements and numerous utility relocations including sewer and water lines. Project scope included temporary ITS relocations during construction and design of the permanent system including DMS boards, CCTV, ramp meters and Internet Protocol upgrades from Tropicana Avenue to the Spaghetti Bowl Interchange (US 95 & I-15). The 6-mile long project had a design and construction value of $265 million, the largest NDOT project to date.
